So I finally thought of something as I was reading chapter 2 in the text book. When it started talking about the good guys and the bad guys and how sometimes you think someone is good, but they end up being bad and at times it is the other way areound. Well that got me thinking about a show I watch on the Syfy channel called Eureka. The reason being is because Eureka is a show that tends to do that sort of thing rather often, to me at least. One other thing they do is in each episode they normally have two stories going at once. One story happens within that episode only and then there is the other story that bridges all of the episodes and becomes the primary story of an episode in the season finale.
In connection with they way the writers do the episode stories and the good and bad buys in the series I am going to refer back to the first half of season 3. In the opening episode a woman arrives by the name of Thorne who has been sent by the Department of Defense to inspect the town of Eureka's main company Global Dynamics. The personality that the character emits is one of someone that many people would probably consider the bad guy. As the episodes go on this season more things are somewhat revealed about Thorne especially since she is put in charge of Global Dynamics. Those different things that are revealed make her appear much more mysterious and to a point a bad guy. Yet in the mid season finally her role is reversed and she becomes a good guy when her whole background is finally revealed and she also has to help one of the main characters save his daughter.
So I had never really thought about the development of that character until I started reading this chapter. It also gets me wondering what other characters that they did the exact same thing with. There may be one other that I already know of, but at the same time not. I will have to get back to you guys on that one.
